Today’s podcast says when I was growing up, there was a 5 & 10 cent store, and you could really buy things for a nickle. You could make a phone call from a pay phone for a nickle, and a nickle would buy you a ride on the subway or the street car. Ice cream cones were a nickle, and so were cokes.

Today’s podcast admits,there was no radar, no credit cards, no ball point pens, no pantyhose…I was on the air at WNEW in New York late at night and on the log was a live commercial for panty hose…I’d never heard of panty hose, and I almost didn’t do the commercial because I thought someone was goofing on me.
