Today’s podcast is about going to see Dr. Drillgrinder the dentist. Just thinking about it gives me the same kind of feeling I get when I see a police car in the rear view mirror, even when I know I’m not speeding. Or when I wake up a few minutes before I’ve set the alarm clock, and I keep thinking, “Oh no. Please don’t let it happen.” When you walk into your dentist’s office doesn’t it feel a little like when you walk around your new car and find the first scratch? Impending doom!
Today’s podcast is about a problem most guys have. They mostly grunt at ladies. Then they spit and scratch. But Louie Louie Generation guys like me, spin stories for our ladies instead. We know that ladies like stories. And we like ladies. “Once upon a time” it is said, a little Louie Louie Generation frog told a wonderful story he called “Ribit-Ribit” to a princess. “Ribit-Ribit” was all he said. But it made her smile. He was just a little frog, but she liked his “Ribit-Ribit”story so much that she kissed him, and he instantly turned into a prince, complete with a fancy carriage. At least that’s what the Princess told her mother when she walked into the bedroom and found that handsome young man in there with her daughter. Mom wasn’t buying it. She had the frog’s carriage toad away. It’s really tough being a guy. We do the best we can with what we have to offer. But it is a problem. Being a guy can be tough. Give a listen please.
Lots of people aren’t interested in reading magazines any more. Today’s podcast suggests some new titles to make magazines more interesting. For example, a magazine about money could be called, “Gimme.” Or a magazine about raising and riding horses called “Good Horse Keeping.” How about a magazine for pilots who’s subscription to Flying magazine has run out. It could be called, “Crashing.” Try something new. You could even actually listen to today’s podcast.
It’s called “Junk Mail.” But think of the fun fantasies it can start going in your head. Today’s podcast says, “The Lands End catalog for example has a picture of a bunch of guys standing around in their underwear. A few pages away are a bunch of ladies standing around in their underwear. In my fantasy, I could hear one of the ladies whisper something to me. When I listened more carefully, I could hear what she was saying. “Why doesn’t that guy close the magazine so we could get together with those guys and..party.” Fantasies can be so much fun.” Give a listen and get some of your best fantasies cooking for the weekend.

Maybe is magic. But it often causes confusion. For example, today’s podcast asks how come one match can start a forest fire, but it might take a box of matches to start a camp fire? And how come stealing an idea from one person is called plagiarism, but stealing ideas from lots of people is called research. And why is change inevitable…except maybe from a vending machine. Even scientists are confused because they forget about the magic of maybe. Scientists say we have sex so we can pass along our genes to the next generation. BS. And maybe I can prove its BS from very personal experience. Very frequently after a lucky hour or so with my Lady Wonder Wench, I have fervently prayed that my genes would drown in their own little gene pools. And I think my Lady Wonder Wench has said similar prayers on more than one wonderful occasion. Maybe you’ll give today’s podcast a listen.
